Whilst this last year has been a year of challenges, I think it’s also been a year of LOVE.  We have missed friends and family, and made us realise how much they mean to us and how much we love them.

So this Valentines Day, lets to share the love and show some kindness through our outfits!

An easy way of adding the LOVE to your outfit is through accessories, and a scarf is also perfect at this time of year for an extra layer of warmth.  This stylish scarf from Accessorize will add a touch of colour and Valentines LOVE to your outfit

Scarf, Accessorize, £20

I’m obviously hoping that we won’t need an umbrella on Valentines Day, but given the British weather it’s probably quite likely!  But if it does rain, this umbrella from Next is guaranteed to cheer you up.

And of course – THE accessory to be seen in at the moment is the face mask, and I love this heart print mask from Accessorize.

If your top half is your best asset, then use pattern and colour to show it off.  Wearing pattern this way also works really well if you are pear shaped (where your shoulders are narrower than your hips), as the pattern will help balance out your proportions.

This blouse from NYDJ is a lovely and easy to wear item, and the bold pattern will clearly show the LOVE.  Its great teamed with skinny jeans, but will also work with a skirt or trousers for a smarter look.

If you prefer a more subtle pattern and a more classic cut, then this shirt from Khost is perfect.  The print is feminine and gentle, and looks great casually French tucked into jeans, as shown in the picture

If you are an athletic build with a strong shoulder line vs narrower hips, then you may prefer a pattern on your bottom half to once again balance out your proportions.

This bold black and white printed skirt from M&S, has a contemporary edge with the double split.  Its also an item that will take you into summer too – wear with a jumper now, and a tee as the weather warms up

Midi Skirt, M&S, £25

For those of you who are more confident with pattern, then why not try and all over print.  This empire line dress from Dorothy Perkins is a very flattering shape, and the all over pattern will also give the appearance of height , so great if you are petite

Lets show the Love this Valentines!

If you need any help or guidance on understanding how you personally can wear colour or patterns, then drop me a line.  I am working remotely and virtually during lockdown, and these online sessions are receiving great feedback.
